Pakistan, May 16 -- Pakistan's seafood exports have crossed the $500 million mark for the first time, marking a major milestone for the country's maritime sector. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced the achievement on Saturday. He said the target was met 46 days before the end of the fiscal year.

The minister credited reforms, improved facilitation, and expanded global market access for the growth. He said coordinated efforts between maritime authorities and fisheries departments helped modernize the sector. Moreover, he noted that rising international demand supported stronger export performance.
