Pakistan, Aug. 8 -- Pakistan played a significant diplomatic role in bringing the United States and Iran to the negotiating table. A South Asian Voices analysis credited Islamabad with helping reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran.

According to the policy platform, Pakistan established communication between the two sides during a period of severe tensions. Both countries had reached a stage of heightened confrontation and mutual losses.
