Pakistan, Sept. 11 -- The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan surged to US$ 23,715.8 million as of 4 September while the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) held reserves soared to US$ 18,328.2 million. Due to receipt of GoP commercial loan proceeds, SBP's forex reserves increased by $ 1,210 million to $ 18,328.2 million during the week ended on September 04, 2026, the central bank reported on Thursday in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves. However, the foreign reserves held by commercial banks during the period under review decreased by $ 22.5 million to $ 5,387.6 million, the break up of forex reserves depicted.
