Pakistan, Aug. 4 -- Pakistan's consumer price index (CPI) rose 9.2 percent year-on-year in July, data from the statistics bureau showed on Monday.

The July reading eased from 11.1 percent recorded in June but was more than double the 4.1 percent registered in the same month last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). On a month-on-month basis, consumer prices rose 1.2 percent after declining 0.3 percent in June. Urban inflation stood at 8.7 percent year-on-year, while rural inflation was higher at 9.9 percent.
