Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- Overseas Pakistanis sent $3.6 billion home in July, giving the new fiscal year a strong start and marking a significant increase in remittance inflows. The State Bank's latest monthly data showed remittances rose 4.5% compared with the previous month and 13% year-on-year.

Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances during July, with Pakistani workers sending $914 million home from the kingdom. The United Arab Emirates followed with $737.3 million, while Pakistanis in the United Kingdom sent $555.5 million during the month.
