Pakistan, Oct. 16 -- Following Tariq Kirmani's resignation, Aftab Hussain has been appointed as chairman of Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) on an interim basis.

The listed refinery informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in a filing on Thursday.

"We would like to inform you that the Board of Directors, by way of a circular resolution dated October 14, 2026, has approved the appointment of Aftab Husain as Chairman of the Board of Pakistan Refinery Limited for the interim period, with immediate effect," read the notice.

The development comes following Tariq Kirmani's resignation as chairman and director of PRL on health grounds.
