Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Pakistan's top leadership reaffirmed its commitment to national prosperity, development and strong defence as the country marked its 79th Independence Day with patriotic ceremonies in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan wanted peace but warned India not to mistake its desire for stability as weakness, stressing that national sovereignty remained non-negotiable.
He said Yadgar-e-Fatah represented courage, unity and the capabilities of Pakistan's armed forces, while praising Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his leadership during Marka-e-Haq.
