Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- Pakistan's inflation rate fell to 9.2% in July, according to a briefing to the National Price Monitoring Committee. The committee reported a two-percentage-point decline from the previous rate of 11.1%.
The meeting was chaired by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad. Officials reviewed inflation, essential commodity prices and the quality of food products.

Officials said higher gas prices remained the biggest contributor to inflation during July. Wheat, flour, fresh milk and petrol prices also added pressure on consumers.
