Pakistan, Sept. 23 -- Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will begin talks tomorrow, Wednesday, in Islamabad to release the fifth installment of the loan program.

Finance Ministry sources stated that the IMF delegation will arrive in Pakistan on September 23. Both sides will negotiate the fifth tranche of the existing loan program, and all preparations for the review talks have been completed. Sources added that Pakistan will brief the IMF delegation on its economic performance through June 2026 and report on targets met under structural benchmarks.

Discussions will also cover targets for economic and energy reforms, as well as goals concerning circular debt in the gas and electricity sectors.
