Pakistan, May 2 -- Pakistan has announced an end to electricity loadshedding following the arrival of fresh liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies, bringing temporary relief to consumers after weeks of power shortages. However, officials have warned that dependence on expensive imported fuel may increase electricity generation costs in the coming weeks.

Minister for Power Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari said the latest LNG shipment had helped stabilise electricity production and restore normal power distribution across the country.
