Pakistan, April 30 -- Pakistan played with heart and intensity but fell to a 1-0 loss to Azerbaijan in their final game of the UEFA Under-16 Development Tournament at the BIIK Sports Complex in Shymkent, Kazakhstan on Thursday.
Having dominated for the majority of the match, Pakistan conceded late on when Azerbaijan's Nazim Aliyev scored from close range before holding on with 10 players after defender Hamza was sent off.
The defeat meant Pakistan ended the tournament at the bottom of the standings, having earlier suffered defeats to hosts Kazakhstan and Russia. However, coach Mohammad Essa hailed the learning experience for his young charges.
