ISLAMABAD, April 17 -- Pakistan is facing a significant electricity shortfall of 4,000 megawatts as rising temperatures have led to a sharp increase in demand, resulting in prolonged and unscheduled load-shedding across major cities.

According to power sector officials, the shortage has triggered widespread outages in several urban and rural areas, severely affecting daily life and business activities. In Karachi, multiple localities are experiencing up to 10 hours of electricity suspension, leaving residents struggling amid intense heat conditions.
