Pakistan, Aug. 20 -- Pakistan on Wednesday summoned the United States Charge d'Affaires in Islamabad and lodged a strong demarche over remarks by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor during his recent visit to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), in which he described the disputed territory as part of India.

The Foreign Ministry categorically rejected the characterization, reiterating Islamabad's longstanding position that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognised disputed territory whose final disposition remains pending in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
