Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- Pakistan recorded a current account deficit of $328 million in July 2026, according to State Bank of Pakistan data. The deficit narrowed significantly from $814 million in June and $529 million in July 2025. The latest figures indicate an improvement in Pakistan's external account position.
The State Bank released the data on Tuesday, showing stronger exports contributed to the narrower deficit. Goods exports increased 17% month-on-month and 9% year-on-year. Exports reached $3 billion, marking their highest monthly level in 19 months.
