KARACHI, April 9 -- Customs authorities at Karachi Jinnah International Airport confiscated more than 300 tolas of gold from a passenger arriving from Abu Dhabi, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The seizure occurred after the passenger and accompanying family members failed to provide proper documentation for transporting the gold into Pakistan.

During routine luggage and hand-carried bag inspections, customs officials detected the presence of gold and foreign currency. A detailed search led to the recovery of a substantial quantity of gold jewellery and bars.
