Pakistan, June 11 -- More than 1,300 migrants have died while attempting to reach the Spanish coast in the first five months of 2026, according to an advocacy group. The report highlights rising fatalities on dangerous Atlantic and Mediterranean migration routes. The deaths affect migrants, including women and children, attempting irregular sea crossings to Europe.
The figures were released by Caminando Fronteras, also known as Walking Borders. The group said 1,317 people died or went missing during attempted crossings. Moreover, it reported that 27 boats disappeared with all passengers on board, raising concerns over maritime safety.
