Pakistan, Aug. 29 -- The death of more than 14 children at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have triggered a political confrontation, with the opposition blaming the government for negligence while government members have focused on inquiries and committee proceedings to determine responsibility.
The tragedy has left 14 families in mourning and raised serious questions about hospital management, patient safety and the utilisation of PIMS's substantial budget.
Opposition lawmakers launched a strong attack on the government in Parliament, accusing it of failing to prevent the deaths and demanding accountability of those responsible.
