Pakistan, Aug. 22 -- Onion and tomato prices recorded sharp increases in Pakistan during the past year. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, onion prices rose by 132.52 percent. Tomato prices also increased by 93.21 percent during the same period. The figures highlight continued pressure on household food budgets.
Several other essential items also became significantly more expensive. Flour prices increased by 62.25 percent over the year. LPG prices rose by 51.69 percent during the same period. Diesel became 33.08 percent more expensive, while petrol prices increased by 27.65 percent. These increases have added pressure on household and transport costs.
Meanwhile, prices of several food items also recorded notable increases. ...
