Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- Oman has evacuated 16 crew members from the Saudi-owned tanker Sidr after an Iranian attack. The vessel came under attack while travelling through the Strait of Hormuz. Two Filipino seafarers died in the incident, according to Saudi authorities.
Oman's Maritime Security Centre confirmed the evacuation in a statement posted on X. The rescue operation followed an attack on the tanker during its passage. Authorities moved the crew members to safety after the incident.
The Sidr was among two supertankers carrying Saudi oil that reportedly came under attack. Both vessels were travelling through the Strait of Hormuz when the incidents occurred. The attacks were reported on Monday, according to the available information.
