Pakistan, July 28 -- Oman has presented Iran with a proposal for a joint regional mechanism to manage the Strait of Hormuz, according to a Gulf source. The initiative aims to improve maritime security and support uninterrupted global energy shipments through the strategic waterway.
According to the source, the proposal has regional backing and would prevent Iran from exercising sole control over the strait. Instead, participating countries would cooperate under a shared management framework with voluntary financial contributions.
