Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- Global oil prices have risen sharply amid renewed US-Iran tensions and disruptions to Middle East crude supplies. However, Brent crude has remained below $100 a barrel. Several factors are limiting the impact of reduced regional exports on global prices.

Crude shipments from Middle Eastern producers have fallen to about 11 million barrels per day. They stood at around 18 million barrels before the US-Israeli war against Iran began. However, significant volumes continue moving through the Strait of Hormuz. Daily flows recently dropped below two million barrels. Yet the moving average remains higher, helping prevent a stronger price surge.
