SINGAPORE, Aug. 19 -- Oil prices climbed for a fourth straight day on Wednesday as uncertainty continued over the Strait of Hormuz. Investors weighed conflicting statements from Iran and the United States.

Brent crude futures rose 69 cents, or 0.8%, to $91.71 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate futures gained 76 cents, or 0.9%, to $85.70. Both contracts reached their highest levels in more than three weeks on Tuesday. Prices gained as hopes for renewed US-Iran diplomacy weakened.
