WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 -- US General Dan Caine has said there are no plans to deploy troops at polling stations during the November elections. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff made the remarks in a letter to Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin. He said state and local authorities are responsible for managing elections and providing security. Therefore, the military does not currently have a planned role at polling places.
