Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- New Zealand beat Pakistan 4-2 on Monday in their FIH Men's Hockey World Cup classification fixture at Wagener Stadium. Dylan Thomas gave New Zealand a dream start by scoring from a field goal just 20 seconds into the match. Scott Boyde doubled the advantage in the 16th minute before George Baker added another goal four minutes later. New Zealand entered halftime with a commanding three-goal lead.
Pakistan struggled to contain New Zealand during the opening half as the Kiwis controlled the match with attacking pressure.
