Pakistan, Sept. 23 -- Pakistan has enforced the Toshakhana (Management and Regulation) Rules 2026, replacing the previous framework for managing and auctioning gifts. The Cabinet Division lists the new rules as active from September 22, 2026.
Under the rules, sensitive, valuable, diplomatic and historically important gifts may be exempted from auction. Gifts containing two or more items also cannot be sold separately.
Auction proceeds will fund primary education for girls in the country's most underdeveloped areas. The funds must be used within six months, with prior approval from the prime minister.
A Grade-20 or higher officer will oversee gift security, while CCTV cameras and physical locks will be mandatory. Gifts will also undergo...
