Pakistan, July 31 -- The Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) has urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate notice of the substantial reduction in consumer information in the new electricity bill format introduced from the billing month of June 2026, terming it a serious setback to transparency and consumer rights.
In a letter written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PHMA North Zone Chairman Abdul Hameed said the revised electricity bill had substantially reduced information available to consumers, making it difficult to independently verify meter readings, units consumed, tariff calculations and statutory charges.
