Pakistan, June 5 -- The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has reduced electricity prices by Rs1.98 per unit and issued an official notification. The reduction matters because it will provide financial relief to millions of consumers facing high energy costs. Households and businesses across Pakistan, including K-Electric users, will benefit from the decision.

According to the notification, the tariff reduction has been approved under the quarterly adjustment mechanism for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The revised rates are aimed at easing the burden on electricity consumers. Authorities said the adjustment reflects changes in power sector costs during the review period.
