Pakistan, Aug. 30 -- The death toll from devastating floods and mudslides in Nepal and Tibet has crossed 700 as rescue teams continue searching for missing people. China has identified 261 foreign nationals from 23 countries who remain missing on the Tibetan side. The disaster began after a glacier collapse sent huge amounts of ice, rocks, mud and debris through Himalayan river systems.

Chinese officials said Nepalese nationals make up the largest group of missing foreigners, with 104 people unaccounted for. Authorities also reported 49 missing Indian citizens, along with 33 Latvians, 18 Americans and 15 British nationals. Foreign missions have been informed about their missing citizens.
