KATHMANDU, Aug. 29 -- Nepal's devastating floods have killed 669 people, while more than 2,000 remain missing. Rescue teams continue searching for survivors across badly affected areas. More than 500 foreign nationals are reportedly among those still missing. Meanwhile, families continue waiting for information about their loved ones. Difficult weather and damaged infrastructure have made rescue operations extremely challenging.

Despite the difficult conditions, rescue workers have recorded several emotional breakthroughs. A rescue team saved a 97-year-old woman after a lengthy operation through the rubble.
