Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- Nepali rescuers have reached remote areas nearly a week after devastating floods killed at least 939 people. Teams built temporary bridges and cleared debris to reach stranded workers. Authorities also restored electricity and communication services in several affected areas.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah said rescuers had saved more than 11,000 people across the affected region. About 600 people remained trapped at several damaged hydropower stations. Rescue teams had already freed 279 workers from those projects.
