Pakistan, Sept. 3 -- The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a 72-hour flood alert for northern Pakistan. Heavy rain may trigger flash floods and landslides across vulnerable areas. Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa face the main risks.

The NDMA expects strong winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall during the next two to three days. The authority warned that rainfall could increase flows in rivers, streams, nullahs, and seasonal waterways. Mountainous areas may also face debris flows and landslides.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, several districts face possible flash flooding, including Gilgit, Diamer, Ghizer, and Hunza. Astore, Skardu, Shigar, and nearby districts also remain vulnerable. In Azad Kas...
