GILGIT, June 2 -- President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, has said his party seeks public support based on its performance rather than criticism of political opponents, while promising to address infrastructure and development challenges in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Addressing an election rally in Gilgit, Nawaz Sharif said he was saddened by the condition of roads and public infrastructure in the region. Recalling his visits to Gilgit and Skardu during his tenure as prime minister, he said he had envisioned significant progress for the area but was disappointed to see many projects remain incomplete.
