Pakistan, July 21 -- Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif said he would like to become the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir if his party wins the upcoming elections. He made the remarks while addressing a public rally in Muzaffarabad.

Nawaz said he would ask Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to appoint him as AJK prime minister if the PML-N secures victory. He described Azad Kashmir as his second home and said it was as dear to him as Punjab.

He pledged to resolve the region's major issues if the PML-N forms the next government in Azad Kashmir. Additionally, he promised to visit the region every three months to personally review public concerns.
