Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Tuesday as Pakistan intensifies diplomatic efforts to help resolve the US-Iran standoff.

Naqvi is expected to meet senior Iranian officials during his visit. Discussions will focus on regional tensions and prospects for resolving outstanding issues between Washington and Tehran.

His visit follows a telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The two ministers discussed regional security developments and the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
