Pakistan, Aug. 13 -- Pakistani actress Nadia Afghan has spoken out against violence toward animals, particularly stray dogs and urged parents to teach children to treat animals with kindness and compassion.

During a conversation, Afghan said the practice of killing dogs in society could have a negative impact on children by sending them the message that violence is a solution to problems.

She acknowledged that streets are not completely safe for anyone, including children and animals, but said the situation could be improved through vaccination, food and proper care of stray dogs rather than killing them.
