Pakistan, Aug. 17 -- Myanmar has verified nearly 309,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh as former residents of Rakhine State. However, security concerns continue to delay their possible return. The Myanmar foreign ministry shared the figures in a recent statement. It said 308,797 people had been verified from Bangladesh's repatriation list. Bangladesh submitted 828,824 names for verification by July 31, 2026.
