Pakistan, July 28 -- The bitter internal discord within the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), which dominated the party's politics during the first two weeks of July over leadership, intra-party elections and organisational affairs, has come to an abrupt halt, fuelling speculation of behind-the-scenes reconciliation efforts by individuals acceptable to rival camps.

Political observers note that the sharp exchange of allegations, public criticism and indirect attacks between senior party leaders has suddenly disappeared, despite expectations that the confrontation would further intensify.
