Pakistan, Aug. 16 -- Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan has called for creating new provinces based on population and administrative needs, arguing that Sindh has the strongest case for additional administrative units.
MQM-P Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said the demand was based on national requirements rather than party interests, urging political parties to begin serious discussions on the issue.
He noted that Pakistan's provinces were largely created on linguistic grounds, while population growth had increased administrative pressures without corresponding changes to the existing structure.
