Pakistan, June 4 -- The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has called on the government to abolish the petroleum levy and broaden tax collection by targeting wealthy segments of society, arguing that the current tax structure places an excessive burden on ordinary citizens.

The demand was made by senior MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar during a press conference in Karachi, where the party unveiled its proposed shadow budget ahead of the upcoming federal budget.
