Pakistan, Sept. 3 -- The Momina Iqbal case took a new turn on Thursday when a new investigating officer told a Lahore court that Saqib Chadhar does not need arrest at this stage. Following the statement, the PML-N lawmaker and his wife withdrew their interim pre-arrest bail petitions. The court then disposed of both pleas.
The new investigation position differs from the earlier findings in the case. Previous investigating officer Najam Bajwa told the sessions court on July 28 that investigators had found Chadhar guilty during their inquiry. However, the new officer, Hassan Sajjad Naqvi, told the court that authorities currently do not need to arrest the suspects.
