Pakistan, July 27 -- Indian activists have challenged the use of AI-powered surveillance during recent youth protests, creating a legal test for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. The case focuses on privacy concerns and the use of facial recognition technology. It follows one of India's largest youth-led protests in decades.
Student activist Aishe Ghosh has petitioned the Delhi High Court against mass surveillance at the demonstrations. She asked the court to declare the monitoring unconstitutional and order the deletion of collected personal data. She also requested guidelines for the use of surveillance technology.
