Pakistan, May 4 -- Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to maintaining clean and sustainable ports. He said pollution-free harbours are essential for safe navigation and stronger economic growth. The remarks highlight growing focus on environmental management in maritime operations.
According to an official statement, the Karachi Port Trust carried out a major weekly clean-up operation through its Marine Pollution Control Department. The drive recovered 16,430 kilograms of solid waste from high-risk harbour areas. Officials said the effort targets long-standing pollution challenges affecting port efficiency and marine life.
