Pakistan, July 7 -- A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the Mindanao region of the Philippines on Monday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The offshore tremor occurred at a shallow depth, raising initial concerns in nearby areas. However, Philippine authorities said no damage or aftershocks were expected following the earthquake.

The GFZ reported that the earthquake measured 5.81 in magnitude and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres. The shallow depth made the tremor noticeable in parts of the southern Philippines. Officials continued monitoring the situation after the seismic event.
