Pakistan, Sept. 23 -- Meta is expected to introduce new smart glasses without cameras at its annual Connect conference on Wednesday. The move comes as concerns grow over AI devices that can record people without their consent.
The company has become a major player in the smart glasses market, with sales exceeding seven million last year. Meta developed its existing glasses with EssilorLuxottica and mainly competes with Chinese brands such as RayNeo and Xiaomi.
Privacy concerns have also increased as the glasses become more popular. Several restaurants, pubs and theatres in the UK have restricted their use over fears of covert recording.
