Pakistan, Aug. 18 -- Scream VI star Melissa Barrera led heartfelt tributes shortly after it was announced that her co-star Hayden Panettiere has passed away at the young age of 36.

Barrera, who played Sam Carpenter in the sixth movie, took to her Instagram Stories, writing "Rest in peace sweet Hayden."

For the unversed, the two starred together in the 2023 slasher, with Panettiere returning as Kirby Reed, the character she first played in 2011's Scream 4.

As the Heroes star's representative issued a statement, confirming the heartbreaking news, Selma Blair rushed to the late actress's social media account and left a series of emotional messages on her final Instagram post.
