Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- A solemn guard change ceremony took place at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Pakistan's 79th Independence Day. The ceremony marked the national celebrations across the country on August 14. Pakistanis observed the day with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The celebrations began with a traditional 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals. Special prayers were also offered after Fajr prayers. People prayed for Pakistan's peace, prosperity, unity and progress.
