Pakistan, Aug. 7 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed the defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye. She described the agreement as a significant development for Muslim unity and collective security.

Maryam praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. She also commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for efforts supporting greater cooperation.

She said the agreement sends a message of unity from Makkah. According to Maryam, cooperation among three major Muslim powers carries wider significance for the Islamic world.
