Pakistan, July 16 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the Green Electric Bus Service in five cities and announced plans to operate 5,000 electric buses across the province within five years. The initiative aims to improve public transport and promote environmentally friendly travel. Free travel will be available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women, and students.

The electric bus service has been launched in Layyah, Chiniot, Sialkot, Okara, and Murree. Addressing a ceremony in Arifwala, Maryam Nawaz described the project as Pakistan's largest public transport initiative. She congratulated residents of the cities where the service has started.
