Pakistan, July 23 -- A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck near Miami in the US state of Texas on Thursday, according to the United States Geological Survey. Authorities reported no immediate casualties or damage following the tremor.

The USGS said the earthquake occurred at 10:21 GMT. The quake originated at a depth of 5.7 kilometres beneath the surface near the Texas location.
