Pakistan, May 16 -- Litton Das produced a brilliant century to rescue Bangladesh after Pakistan dominated large parts of the opening day of the first Test in Sylhet. Bangladesh were bowled out for 278 despite collapsing to 116 for 6 during the second session. The innings shifted momentum after a strong Pakistan bowling display.

Pakistan's pace attack made early inroads, with Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Abbas leading the charge. Abbas struck with the second ball of the innings, while Shahzad maintained pressure with consistent breakthroughs. Moreover, Bangladesh struggled to build partnerships in the top order.
